It all starts somewhere

So, I started this blog as a class project for my "Writing for the Media" class with Dr. H. I never thought that I'd actually continue it but here I am, writing in it.

I've been reading my friend Nikol's blog and it has really inspired me to start writing in my own.

I have a hard time getting my thoughts out, and generally I just end up stressing myself and other people out when I'm really thinking about something. Maybe this will be a good outlet for me.

I should be writing my English term paper, but I've already done so much today. I went grocery shopping, registered for classes for next quarter, wrote my "statement of purpose" for studying abroad in Valladolid, Spain for the fall, and wrote a short response for my English class. I'm all out of energy to work on anything else having to do with school.

I'm not really sure if anybody will read this, but that's okay because it's more for me than anybody else anyway. If you read it, thanks for taking a look, I hope at least some of what I write about it interesting.

I'm sure this blog will be a combination of a lot of different stuff as I continue to build it and write more. I'm not a very political person, but the issues I do know about, I'm very passionate about and I will probably include them in my writing sometimes. Maybe my opinions won't change your mind about what's going on, but at least you'll hear someone's perspective who might not have the same ideas as you. I'll probably also write about classes, friends, family, shoes, music, poetry, quotes, or anything else that comes to mind. There's a lot of things that I always mean to write down but never actually do. This is my opportunity to do so.

As for now, I'm going to crawl into bed. Maybe I'll read for a little bit. That's something that I've been wanting to do more. I want to read more books that are for adults. Maybe some classics. I've read a bunch of teenage girl books, Twilight is one of my favorites (I love Carlisle, Alice, Esme, etc... not Edward). I haven't read old literature though, like Jane Austin, Shakespeare, Mary Shelly, and other classic writers. Maybe sometime soon I'll come up with a list of books I'd like to read. I'll probably post it here so (assuming I have at least one person reading my blog) whoever reads the list can add other books to my list that they may think would be good. I'll probably do it with movies too. Who knows what will end up happening with this blog, it's only the beginning.

Okay, off to bed to read "The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch. This is a good book. I also read Ender's Game a few weeks ago because I had remembered reading it in my high school freshman english class with Mr. Johnson. I enjoyed it a lot the second time around. It was very well written and very advanced for it's time. I guess you could say I'm sort of a nerd... reading scifi books and all... oh well, that's just me.

Good night for now. Hopefully I will write another post soon.

Love.
